A simple skin care routine
A clear three-step foundation for a practical skin care routine.
A useful routine does not need to be long. Begin with a few well-chosen steps, introduce new products gradually and pay attention to how your skin responds.
Morning
- Cleanse gently. Choose a mild cleanser suited to your skin; avoid aggressive scrubbing.
- Moisturize if needed. A moisturizer helps support comfort and reduce dryness.
- Protect from the sun. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher when outdoors. Follow the label and reapply as directed.
Evening
Remove makeup and sunscreen, cleanse gently, then apply moisturizer. Add a targeted treatment only when you understand its purpose and can use it consistently.
Keep the routine readable
Using several active products at once can increase irritation and make it difficult to identify the cause. Introduce one change at a time. Persistent acne, rash, pain or sudden changes deserve advice from a dermatologist.
